Some companies offer to set you up with 1,000 Search Engines and Directories. We definitely DO NOT recommend that type of service. What that will do, in essence, is give you a bunch more junk email. Most of the traffic goes through only the major players and that's where you need to be.

Another Search Engine related option is establishing reciprocal links with related and supporting businesses. It's a good idea to continually look for businesses to exchange links with. In fact, we recommend that you allocate a few hours per month to search the Internet for potential link exchange partners. Some may charge you and others not. If there is a charge, it may be worth it if it can bring you enough business to cover the cost. If there is not cost, you simply link to them on your links page and vice versa. It's a grand scratch each other's backs situation in several ways.
 

SRWR Search Engine Services

SR Web Resources (SRWR) Search Engine Services can include some or all of our proposed recommendation. The general costs are:

• SRWR Setup Fee - initial setup is normally from $300 to $800 (based on actual time worked) but it can run higher depending on the extent of your product line and market (local versus national - national with a large product line will involve higher setup and higher pay-per-click).
• Plus 3rd party fees:
  • Annual fees - fixed 3rd party fees or deposit
  • Monthly fees (pay-per-click) - you set the budget to some extent (as an estimate consider $150 to $1,000 depending on the extent of the strategy you choose.

Give us a call to start the program. We will review the program options together and implement it for you. We've had great success with this program. We'll be glad to work with your Webmaster as a stand-alone SRWR service to you, if Search Engine Optimization is beyond their knowledge.

Link Exchange or Reciprocal Links

The obvious way that this helps is that visitors to the other industry related sites see your link, resulting in increased exposure of your site to the Internet community. We emphasize - industry related.

The not-so-obvious way you both benefit is something called "Link Popularity". Many search engines "crawl" out over the Internet and place what they find on an index. Your ranking on a page of search results depends on many things but one of those is "Link Popularity". They know how many others are linked to you. The higher number of links to your site improves their ranking algorithm.

How SRWR can help:

1. On an ongoing basis, you provide the business name and its location to us (via email request is fine) and we can set up the link to them on your site. We can research the Web address or you can provide it. Unless you've already done this, we contact the business to:
   
   a) Confirm that our link to them is ok (as a courtesy, they normally will be quite happy to have your link to them) and provide the Web address of your links page to show them their link on your site.
    
   b) Ask for the favor of a return link from their site
    
   c) Optional follow-up then or on a regular basis to be sure return links are still there.
    
2. We recommend that you research the Internet on a regular basis in search of online advertising and/or reciprocal link opportunities. You provide us the details and we implement the advertising/link(s). Optionally, you can have us do the research per our agreement on how many hours you'd like us to spend on it weekly or monthly.
    
3. Create an Exchange Links page - sample Exchange Links page on SRWR. This is not appropriate for all types of businesses.

 Statistics Reports
SR Web Resources can provide the statistics reports if we have access to your Web host raw log files. $50 SRWR setup fee (Initial setup including index page where you can access current and past statistics reports we've run for you); $25 / report group - usually our customers choose a monthly interval but we will provide all 3 months on a quarterly basis for the same $25 (our cost is close to the same to do one at a time or three at a time). We can also run it more often in the case that you want to see the results of advertising on a particular day. That still carries the $25/report group rate.

We can also serve to review and make helpful Web site changes as a result of the information we gain from your statistics reports - regular site maintenance rates apply for actual time worked.
