In-House and Online Database
We've been asked by our customers to work with in-house database applications.
In-house database applications include things like:
- Manage cost of goods sold - tracking down to the use of a portion
of a bottle of a raw material
- Mechanizing tracking reports
- Pulling together multiple Excel spreadsheets into one searchable database
with extensive reporting capabilities
- Moving to a database that can be maintained and enhanced (unlike an
obsolete legacy system)
- Initiating a new system that can be accessed by multiple people in
the company at one time
- Other efficiency applications.
We build applications utilizing MS Access database, Visual Basic and
SQL for in-house module programming along with Active Server Pages, Dreamweaver,
VBScript that bring applications online. As a more robust database is
needed, options are available for Microsoft® SQL Database. As a rule
of thumb, an online Microsoft Access database can handle up to 30 system
users hitting the database at once. Microsoft® SQL Database can handle
in the thousands.

Getting the Word Out
There are a few things we recommend to all of our customers:
- Put your Web address EVERYWHERE you print your phone number and address.
- Add your Web address to your sign outside.
- Have your employees, especially your front-line sales people, utilize
the site to assist in serving your customer. Get their ideas on how
the site can offload their work schedule and get your customers' feedback
from them. Have them get the word out about how the site can help
your customers, too. Have them proactively find out what customers
would like to find when they go to your site.
- Take the time to think about and/or search the Web (or delegate it)
for appropriate sites in which to advertise or exchange links with -
whether you are business to consumer or business to business.
- Advertise on the Web - with appropriate directories that serve your
industry. Don't exchange links with these sites, pay for the ad and
for their link to you.
- Be proactive so that people can find you on the search engines - we've
had great success getting customers more prominence with the important
search engines and directories. Contact us to assist with this as a
